Welcome home baby Nathaniel!

Welcome baby Nathaniel! This is the newest addition to the Quill side of the family. He was born last Friday at around 8 pounds and about 3 weeks early! We havent seen him in person yet but hear from other family that he is quite handsome! Not sure how Mike and Karen are doing but hope they are doing well! Those first few nights can be sooo tiring! Looking back on when Sadie came home I miss that night! Ok well maybe not really. I miss her being so small and sleepy. But I dont miss how she woke up every 2 hours! I remember I had to sleep on the couch for the first week because my bed was too high for me to get into after the C section. Im looking forward to those first few nights with the next one too! Now we know what to expect and what we should change. Good luck Mike, Karen and baby Nathaniel!

Second night of big girl bed!

Little Sadie slept in the big girl bed from 8pm until 3:30am. She then crawled out of her bed and came creeping into our bedroom asking for a bottle! So I just scooped her up and put her in our bed until she woke up again at 6:15am. So we got a good 7 hrs last night of our bed! Oh man was it nice. So we are on our on second night. I bought a bed rail today for her bed so we'll see what happens tonight.
We started scraping the wallpaper off the dining room today. My mom and I scraped while Sadie helped too! She was very good while we worked and she tried to help. Our plan is to paint tomorrow morning for a bit and then return to Lowes to get more paint for the upper walls in the afternoon. Hopefully Sadie will be as good as she was today and let us get to work!

Our big girl!

Here is our big girl in one of her last nights in our bed! Oh yes...Sadie has slept in our bed since about 4 months old! I hate to admit it but everyone does things to make their lives easier. Having Sadie in our bed at night was easier for us! We have a king size bed which was huge until little missie got bigger and bigger. Now that I am pregnant again its definately time to move Sadie into her own bed in her own room. She kicked my back and hogged the pillows! So tonight she sleeps in her own twin bed. I didnt get bed rails yet but rolled up some blankets and some pillows to put on the edge of the bed. We'll see how long she lasts until she falls out. My plan is to get bed rails this week while I am on vacation. If she wakes up in the middle of the night me or Skip can climb in with her until she falls back asleep. And then we can creep back into our own bed. Wish us luck!

Looking to buy a house?

We met out neighbors last week. We are clearly the youngest people on the street. Meaning the youngest homeowners on the street. Not a big deal. However, I feel it is my duty to find a younger couple maybe with a few kids who want to buy the house across the street. Its an adorable red house with a small pool in the back and a nice yard. Very cute and a nice neighborhood. Im going to take a picture tomorrow to post it on the blog. We're looking for a nice down to earth couple with like I said, maybe a few kids. This couple MUST enjoy boating, fourwheeling, hunting, having a few drinks on the deck, black labs, barn cats and kittens and crazy 2 year olds. It would be nice if this couple bought a larger pool so that we could enjoy it as well. It would also be nice if the child bearing partner was with child. I would feel much better to have a pregnancy partner. Let me know if you are interested. Please send your resumes along with family histories, vaccinations and a brief letter explaining why you would be a good couple to move into the house across the street.

Everything sounds good!

Today was my first appointment with the doctor regarding the new addition in October. After waiting over an hour I finally saw the dr. who so sweet, it was hard to be upset with her. I got to hear the heartbeat which was great! Once you hear the heartbeat for the first time you know its real...although the ultrasounds last week should have been a good clue too!! The Dr. said everything sounds good so far! My energy is starting to come back slowly. Thank god!! After awhile it just gets on your nerves that you are tired ALL the time! And Im sure Skip will be happy about my energy level returning as well!

Sadie had a good day with Meme-Grammy as she is now called. They bought a little wagon, a rake and a shovel to do yard work. Sadie wanted to go to Great Grammy Jeans house and help her in the yard too. So off they went to the farm. Sadie was looking at the chickens and she started screaming! Apparently one of the chickens got too close for comfort either that it pecked her little finger! For the rest of the afternoon all she did was tell the story of how the chicken pecked her finger! There is no mark so Im thinking she is just being the drama queen that she is! Just like her mother I suppose!

The long awaited Easter pics are here!

Here is the little miss Easter Sunday at Great Grammy Jean's house, AKA Jean. She was very happy with her easter eggs she found in the barn however, she though GGJ stole her eggs! Really my mom took them and hid them so she wouldnt eat all the candy inside the eggs. But Sadie thought Jean stole the eggs! Too cute! The little queen was very sleepy today!! Im not sure if she slept at all today with Grumpy! She came home full of energy at 4:30pm and went down for a nap. She has not woken up since! Skip wanted me to wake her up but she must need her sleep so I let her doze. We'll see what happens in the middle of the night when she wakes up ready to play!

Last night she woke up crying a few times and kept kicking me every time she moved. Okay, she still sleeps with us. I know, I know! Im embarassed to say it. Lets just say we needed our sleep during those tough nights and the routine has stuck. BUT, I will say that the new baby will be sleeping in the crib!! Oh yes! And hopefully Sadie will be in the big girl bed...when ever we decide to go that route!
Anyways, she woke up last night "scared". Scared of what I dont know! Hope she is not having night mares.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!
